Rental Requirements
Advanced glass cockpit aircraft present a whole new level of pilot information and control. Pilots transitioning from a traditional cockpit usually require several sessions with an instructor before they “master the glass.” Our minimum time and training requirements are there to ensure new pilot safety and maximum aircraft performance.
Most pilots should therefore have a minimum of 500 hours total time prior to solo and an instrument rating prior to cross-country. In addition, all rental pilots are required to complete a factory approved aircraft transition with a Glassflite approved instructor. Depending on experience, most rental pilots can complete the required transition within 5-10 hours.
